In 1932, E. L. Harris (Pat, Sr.) found his way from Missouri to Texas. Upon arrival, he found a friend and between them they had a little cash and an old truck. They made a commitment to one another, worked sun up to sun down giving customers a quality product and eventually established a company that grew. As the company grew, the friends decided they were aiming towards different goals and split the company. But because they valued their relationship, they remained loyal friends for decades until their death.

Pat, Sr.’s company grew, as did his family and they settled in Sugar Land. From this point on, it was all about family. The business, Harris Construction, had some twists and turns along the way, as all growing companies do, but Harris Construction is unique in that it’s always been in the hands of family. Today, it is owned by the third generation sons, Glenn and Larry, along with the fourth generation, their sons, Chad and Dustin.

Longevity is rare these days in a company, but not at HCC. A business survives, for 80+ years, much like a family, not just because it is strong, but because it is committed to and trusted by the people around them.
